Senior Software Engineer Odilo Oehmichen, Namics

Odilo Oehmichen is a Senior Software Engineer with namics in Frankfurt, one of the major internet consulting companies in Germany. He has specialized in developing complex JEE applications built on top of the Spring Framework. A focus of his work has been developing projects for the financial sector.

With a team at namics Odilo realized the first project in Europe running on the Springsource dm Server.

Odilo has over 10 years of experience with the Java programming language. His first contact with the Spring Framework was in early 2004.

Abstract:

Namics, one of the leading internet consulting companies in Switzerland and major player in Germany, has launched an extranet application for Phonak, a producer of hearing instruments. This application was built using the SpringSource dm Server for the middle tier. It serves multiple frontend applications and has interfaces to several backend systems.

In this talk we will give a brief overview of the application architecture before talking about the experiences made while developing with the dm Server. We will discuss the problems we met and how we solved them. Additionally we will present our expectations concerning an OSGI architecture and how they have been satisfied.
